Vykon exhaust systems are labelled for competition use only thus are not and have never been legal for use on public roads. Vykon has always disclaimed the street legality of their exhausts. In saying that, it is legal in California to purchase racing systems for use on the racetrack and closed course events per the CARB definition being competition use only are those that have not been proven by their manufacturers to not increase vehicle emissions.
Please note, that the California Air Resources Board will continue to perform investigating into exhaust manufacturers and distributors for selling non-CARB compliment or improperly labelled exhaust systems sold in California. The purchaser must consult the appropriate laws in their area before purchasing and installing a Vykon system onto their vehicle and must ensure compliance with all applicable laws. Not Vykon nor any of its resellers may make any representation that any of their parts or systems comply with any such US laws. Fines can be issued by CARB for noncompliance.
As a result of the world-wide distribution of Vykon products, not Vykon or any of its re-selling distributors can make any representation that the products comply with the USA air and/or noise CARB emissions laws, or labelling laws, of any jurisdiction. The purchasers are entirely responsible for informing themselves of the applicable US laws where the products are to be used and to comply with those laws.
Noise Regulations. The State of California does not require aftermarket exhaust systems for motorcycles to comply with any specific sound test. Federal regulations are applicable to aftermarket exhaust systems for motorcycles that require the manufacturer to test for compliance and must be labelled on the exhaust system specifying whether it meets the EPA noise standards or not.
Vykon full systems may only be used on closed course racing or competition vehicles and are not for sale in CA.
Vykon systems are intended for “Competition Use Only” and are not legal for use on public roads.
Vykon systems do not meet the United States EPA noise standards.
Vykon systems are not legal for sale in California, as they do not meet CARB standards.
Customers might be requested during a purchase of a Vykon exhaust system to complete the necessary Vykon legally bound accountability documentation where and when required to personally accept accountability and knowledge of the above legal outline before purchasing a Vykon system.
